The Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos on Monday, January 19, 2026, presented a total of 508 graduates for its annual induction and hooding programme.
The ceremony which held at the Nigerian Society of Engineering (NSE) Lagos Branch Secretariat, was part of ongoing 56th Convocation Ceremonies of the University of Lagos.

In his remarks, the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Professor Samson Adeosun congratulated all the graduating students across the 10 departments for successfully scaling through the hurdles of their first degree programmes
While imploring them to see their induction as their formal entry into Industry, Prof. Adeosun charged them to see their Bachelors’ degrees as a clarion call to national development as required of them in their respective fields of study hence they should be open minded and be ready to unlearn and relearn.
The ceremony featured an induction address delivered by the President/Managing Director of Schneider Electric, West Africa, Engineer Ajibola Akindele, who also congratulated the engineering students on their academic milestones.
Represented by the Channel Sales Director, Nurudeen Oyedeji, Engr. Akindele welcomed the Faculty of Engineering graduates across the 10 departments into the various arms of the engineering profession and charged them to brace up for the national call for a stronger collaboration with a view to not only building infrastructures but also meeting the nation’s critical needs especially in the energy sector.
The event was also an opportunity to celebrate the academic feats of Mekwunye Clinton of the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and OLUBUNMI Peace of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering both being Best Graduating Students in the faculty having pulled a CGPA of 4.90 in their respective courses.
