EFCC ARRAIGNS EX-FUDMA VC OVER ALLEGED ₦19.7M BRIBERY

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Professor Armaya'u Hamisu Bichi, former Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Dutsinma, Katsina State, alongside two co-defendants, Lawal Tukur Mani and Aliyu Lawal Jari, on bribery charges totalling N19.7 million.

The arraignment took place before Honourable Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar of the Katsina State High Court on Thursday, February 5, 2026. The EFCC's Kano Zonal Directorate brought the charges, alleging Bichi received kickbacks from contractors during his tenure as Vice-Chancellor. The case is currently before the court, with the defendants facing trial for their alleged roles in the bribery scandal.
