LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY (LASU) RELEASES POST UTME/DE FORM FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

 The Lagos State University (LASU) has officially announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Online Admission Screening Exercise for candidates seeking admission into 100 Level through UTME and 200 Level through Direct Entry (DE).


The screening exercise is compulsory for all candidates who wish to gain admission into LASU for the 2026/2027 academic session.


Who Can Apply?


LASU stated that candidates who selected the university as their first choice in the 2026 UTME and scored 195 and above are eligible to apply for the screening exercise.


Applicants must also be at least 16 years old by October 1, 2026.


The screening is open to:


UTME candidates seeking 100-level admission

Direct Entry (DE) candidates seeking 200-level admission

LASU Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) students who completed their programme successfully

JUPEB and other Direct Entry applicants who selected LASU as first choice

However, LASU emphasized that only LASU Diploma qualifications are acceptable for Direct Entry admission, except NCE holders applying into Faculty of Education programmes.


Candidates of Lagos State origin who have completed verification with the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) will have their indigene claims automatically validated during screening.

LASU has released a long list of accredited courses available for admission across various faculties and schools.


These include programmes in:

Candidates are advised to confirm that their preferred course is listed among LASU’s accredited programmes before applying.


LASU Screening Registration Procedure


The screening registration is completely online.


Candidates should visit the LASU portal and follow these steps:


Step 1 – Visit the Portal


Go to the LASU website and click on:


Student → New Applicants → UTME/DE Screening


Step 2 – Login


Login using:


UTME Registration Number

Surname

Step 3 – Make Payment


Select:


Admission Screening Fee

Ojo Campus

Student Category

After successful payment, return to your dashboard.


Step 4 – Complete Screening Form


Candidates will be required to provide:


Personal details

Contact information

Parent/guardian details

Course choice

O’Level results

Number of sittings

Candidates can update or correct earlier entries if necessary, although additional payments may apply for corrections or rescreening.


O’Level Requirements


LASU stated that candidates must possess five relevant O’Level credits in not more than two sittings.


However:


Medicine and Dentistry require only one sitting

Engineering candidates using two sittings must possess six credits, including:

English Language

Mathematics

Physics

Chemistry

Candidates applying for Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering must also have a credit in Further Mathematics.


Importantly, English Language is compulsory for all LASU courses.


The university also warned that any examination taken after July 2026 will not be accepted.


Upload O’Level Result on JAMB CAPS


LASU advised all candidates to ensure their O’Level results are uploaded on JAMB CAPS before the screening closes.


Failure to upload results may affect admission consideration.


Candidates should also study the official JAMB subject requirements for their preferred course before completing the screening process.


How LASU Screening Will Be Graded


The university explained that admission screening will be based on a point grading system.


The grading will consider:


UTME score

O’Level grades in five relevant subjects

The screening decision will be based strictly on the information supplied by candidates during registration.


LASU stressed that candidates must carefully review and certify all submitted information before final submission.


Registration Deadline


LASU announced that the screening registration and payment window will last 21 days.


Registration opens: Wednesday, June 3, 2026

Registration closes: Tuesday, June 23, 2026 (12 midnight)


Candidates are strongly advised not to wait until the deadline before completing their registration.
