The University of Ibadan (UI), Nigeria’s premier university, has officially announced the commencement of its Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) admission screening exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The announcement comes as welcome news to thousands of candidates across the country who selected the University of Ibadan as their first-choice institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
According to information released by the university, the admission portal for Post-UTME and Direct Entry registration will be opened to eligible candidates from Monday, 22 June 2026, and registration will close on Sunday, 19 July 2026.
The university has emphasized that there will be no extension of the registration period, urging all interested candidates to complete their applications within the stipulated timeframe.
The university has also announced the schedule for its Computer-Based Test (CBT) Post-UTME examination.
The screening examination will take place from:
Monday, 27 July 2026 to Wednesday, 29 July 2026
This means candidates will be examined over a three-day period.
As a CBT-based examination, candidates are expected to demonstrate familiarity with computer-based testing environments. It is advisable for candidates who are not comfortable with CBT systems to begin practicing ahead of the examination date.
The exact examination date, venue, and time for each candidate will likely be communicated through the university portal and candidate-specific examination slips.
