The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reviewed its policy to permit candidates who have lost access to their registered SIM card or email address to update their GSM number and/or email through a secure, controlled process.
The service commenced on Monday, 21 September 2026. It is available exclusively at designated JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres (including PTC/PRC centres) and applicable State Offices. The update can be carried out only once and requires strict identity verification, including biometrics.
Who Qualifies
The service targets candidates with genuine cases of lost access to their previously registered contact details. It is not an open correction window for routine changes.
What Candidates Need
• A new GSM number and/or email address
• A duly executed court affidavit (scanned and ready for upload)
Requests must be processed only at official JAMB centres. Candidates are strongly advised against using unauthorised persons or channels.
Step-by-Step Process
1. Log into the JAMB e-Facility using existing credentials, Registration Number, or Profile Code.
2. Select “SIM Swap/eMail Change Payment” and pay the prescribed fee.
3. Proceed to a designated JAMB CBT centre and access the SIM Swap/eMail Change Quicklink.
4. Enter the Profile Code or existing GSM number and select “Fetch Details.”
5. Complete biometric verification.
6. Choose the required service: GSM only, Email only, or both.
7. Enter the new GSM number and/or email address and upload the scanned court affidavit.
8. Click “Update.” A confirmation message appears upon successful completion.
Security Emphasis
JAMB stressed that candidate details remain protected. The one-time limit and rigorous authentication measures are designed to prevent abuse while providing a more seamless recovery option for affected candidates.
The Board urged candidates to use only designated centres and to avoid third-party agents.
