The Federal University of Technology, Minna has elevated 16 academics to the rank of Professor following approval by the University Council at its 163rd meeting held Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
The Council also approved the promotion of 16 other lecturers to the rank of Associate Professor.
The newly promoted Professors cut across multiple disciplines. They are: Prof. Emmanuel Daniya of Crop Production; Prof. Alkali Babawuya of Mechatronics Engineering; Prof. Mohammed Abubakar Saddiq of Telecommunications Engineering; Prof. Ogunbode Ezekiel Babatunde of Building; Prof. Owoeye Idowu Olusegun and Prof. Musa Haruna Danladi, both of Urban and Regional Planning; Prof. (Mrs.) Eterigho Elizabeth Jumoke of Chemical Engineering; Prof. Babayi Hausatu of Microbiology; Prof. Muhammad Raihanatu of Mathematics; Prof. Olarinoye Oyeleke Ismail, Prof. Igwe Kingsley Chidozie, Prof. Ezenwora Joel Aghaegbunam, and Prof. Ibrahim Aku Godwin, all of Physics; Prof. Kareem Wahab Bamidele of Industrial and Technology Education; Prof. Babalola Gideon Adesina of Library and Information Science; and Prof. Tafida Amina Gogo of Science Education, General Studies Unit.
The promotions take immediate effect, according to the Council’s resolution.
